The book "Malcolm X" has so many conflicts it kind of goes through a roller coaster effect. Malcolm goes from being a religious person to a criminal. The beginning of the book shows the struggle. Malcolm went through Malcolm moves to a house run that is ran by prostitutes. Malcolm become friends with the women and learns a great deal about the men. Sophia starts to visit Malcolm regularly. Malcolm starts working for the railroad company. The railroad company permanently blacklists Malcolm after he pulls a gun on a fellow gambler during a card game in the lower level of Grand Central Station in New York. The narcotics squad in Harlem knows Malcolm too well for him to keep drug-dealing there, so he begins a series of robberies. The Italian racketeers, the hustler Malcolm has just punched, and West Indian Archie are all out for Malcolm’s blood, and he feels more threatened than ever. Just as Malcolm thinks he is going to get shot, Shorty picks him up and takes him to Boston. So it's wild and it jumps events and its hard to keep track. I find the beginning to be the most important because it shows the struggle he went through to transform from Malcolm little to Malcolm X. I also find the discussions to be going well and it helps me to pick up things that I might have skipped.
